Michigan

Michigan's exemption for the recycling of asphalt shingle can be found at  http://www.michigan.gov/documents/deq/deq-whmd-swp-Exemption-AsphaltShingle_247530_7.pdf

There are currently six approved shingle recycling operations using manufacturers' recycled asphalt shingles in different applications.  In 2008, Michigan recycled 18,029 tons of tear offs.  Please contact state regulatory offices or recycling operators to find out more information below:
